Crochet sun hat

July 7, 2010

I’m not normally a big hat-wearer but when I saw this pattern in Crochet Today!, I couldn’t resist.

I went with stripes to jazz it up a bit, and more practically because I was using up yarn bought in a sale and I realised I wouldn’t have enough of any one yarn to make it out of one solid colour.

Pattern: Blooming Sun Hat from Crochet Today! – May/June 2010
Yarn: Rowan handknit cotton
Colourway: 336: Sunflower & 219: Gooseberry
Hook: 4mm

It only took a couple of evenings and I’m really quite pleased — for a non hat-wearer I think I’ll get a lot of use out of this one.

Oh, and check out the new specs!
